HAPPY HOLIDAYS from all of us to YOU!
December 2017 Newsletter - Happy Holidays!
Truhlar and Truhlar, L.L.P., is pleased to welcome its newest associate attorney, Christine Breen. Christine grew up in an oil and gas family in the heart of the industry in Houston, TX. As a descendent of original Colorado pioneers, Christine moved to Colorado in 2011 after obtaining her masters in environmental law and policy and J.D. from Vermont Law School. Christine gives back to her Denver and Colorado communities. She volunteers as an attorney with Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans, a free clinic serving veterans. She has also helped flood victims by providing pro bono and means-based representation. Christine enjoys taking advantage of the great natural resources of Colorado, such as rock climbing, skiing, and hiking, as well as playing with her dog, Sasha. She also enjoys going to stand-up comedy shows and listening to live music. We are glad to have her with us!
Catherine Peterson will be spending Christmas in town this year, and will be taking advantage of time spent skiing in the mountains. She is looking forward to her January trip home, to Paris, France, for time with her family and for her cousin’s wedding.
Abby Sheets is excited for the holidays. Christmas is her favorite time of the year. She and her family have lots of fun activities planned and are looking forward to creating new memories. Only one thing is missing…where is the snow?
Our firm has a new face at the front desk! Mandie Crossley joined us a few months ago as our receptionist and assistant. She is pleasant have around the office. Mandie is responsible for how great our Christmas tree looks in the reception area! She is an asset!
Doris and Bob are planning a Christmas celebration with daughter Samara Williams and husband Wes, and their three sons and also our very own Webmaster, Ivy Truhlar. Doris is making ham this year. Doris and Bob both are excited to see their grandsons. Oldest grandson Evan is a freshman at Colorado State University, likes it very much. Middle grandson Calvin is a junior in high school, playing various sports. Youngest grandson Charlie is in middle school and doing very well. All three play rugby, which is Bob’s and Doris’ favorite sport to watch.
Doris would like to remind her clients that that she does wills and powers of attorney. Some clients may need to execute a codicil, the document to make changes in a will, or they may need to have new powers of attorney prepared. If the individuals named as agents would be changed, that change requires a new power of attorney.
Bob enjoyed speaking at a two-day conference in Vail. His well-received topic was: “Circumstances When Employees are Likely to Pursue Claims, and Fixing Problems Before They Escalate.” Bob was again included in this year’s The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Employment Law representing individuals. This is the 27th year in a row his employment law peers voted him “one of the Best”! He enjoyed another year of the Chicago Cubs being a team to be reckoned with, and says, “wait ‘til next year!”
